This little fella has had his share of being sick this winter.  Last month we took a trip the ER after he threw up 30 times in one night.  Now he’s fighting off a cold and fever.

The one benefit of being sick, of course, is breakfast in bed and lots of extra snuggles!!

I couldn’t help myself…

Last night I splurged and bought a SNOW-CONE cart to surprise the kids for their last day of school!

You should have seen Mason’s face when he got off the bus!!

We had a little party and served snow cones to our neighborhood friends.

HELLO summer vacation!!

Time for Tea

The kiddos invited their favorite dolls and stuffed animals to tea on Valentine’s Day.

I set out all the fixings and they entertained their “friends” all afternoon.

Frankie doesn’t like tea… as you can see she prefers milk.

In no time she will be joining in all the fun.  For now she is just content watching all the fun (and chaos)!!

Wishing you a beautiful day!!

Today is perfect for
baking cupcakes amongst the leaves
dancing in the crisp air
silly laughter
thanking God

and

embracing His precious gift of NOW!

Sending you love, encouragement and sweet wishes on this fall day!

Fall Gingerbread Houses

Every year before Halloween we try to whip up a few HAPPY HOUSES (our version of Haunted Houses)!!  Someday I’ll learn out to bake REAL gingerbread, but for now cinnamon graham crackers work just perfect.  Mason thinks he is going to eat his house on Halloween.

Each time I asked Blaise to “hold a house for a picture” this is what happened—-

OPPPS!!!  He went through two houses!!!

See the big pile of candy?  He added ALL that to the base of his house and called it a ”pile of leaves.”

The accidental house smasher—

He looks the part doesn’t he??

ENJOY all your FALL FUN!

It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is THE fall flick in our house.  Charlie and his pals are huge cause for celebration around here!  Only Peanut’s Thanksgiving and Christmas movies can compete.

Yesterday we had our annual movie and treat night!!!

You’ll NEVER guess what Mason requested seconds off?!

Lettuce for Linus.  No kidding!  I think the ranch dip helped a bit.

If you’ve seen this movie you might remember Charlie’s costume!?  Next year I think we will add rock candy in honor of poor Charlie’s trick-or-treating.

I loved this movie as a kid and I’m so thankful that it’s still around for my kiddos to enjoy!

Monsterous Treats

[Monster SNACK Mat]

Snack Mats are one of my favorite treats to make the littles.  So easy!  It’s kinda like making a scrapbook page with treats.  Anytime I get to play with sweets and paper is a good day!  I especially enjoy making up silly names for the food.  Would you care for some MOLDLY MONSTER POPCORN?  Or how ’bout some MONSTER EYE-BALL SUPER SLIME?

Tomato Soup Cupcakes!

Now that fall is officially here I’m thinking of delightfully disgusting foods to add to our Halloween gross-ology menu!!  These aren’t gross-tasting at all, but I think the name will make some people squeamish.  Maybe I could bake them in soup cans or something?

 From scratch recipe: HERE!

Quick and easy recipe: HERE!  (replaces oil with soup)

Surprisingly you can’t taste the soup at all!

Of course my grandma’s homemade cream cheese frosting helped, but the cupcakes are moist and yummy.

Hope you are having lots of fun baking up GROSS (and not-so-gross) Autumn goodies in the kitchen.
